Whisky Bay - Rocky Bay - Ki Uta Ki Tai Biodiversity Project
Whisky BayKiwi initiative encapsulates three separate projects spanning 407 hectares of private land. Multiple land-owners have come together to establish in excess of 27km of trap lines, utilising a range of mechanical trapping and live cages with LoRa communication nodes. The project undertakes bi-annual toxin pulses. We also align with an invasive weed management plan with our priority weed list including moth plant, climbing asparagus, kahili ginger, cape honeyflower and eleagnus.
