Tui - Nea Place

Bush gully with mature totara stretching between Archers Rd, Nea Place and Coronation Rd-home to many resident tui attracted by fruiting totara, kahikatea, nikau, and kowhai puriri flowers. Sugar water feeders maintain constant attraction and around 15 possum trapped in the last year also attracted rats initially trapped but later baits were used. The bush has pukatea toru hinau tawa tarairi and kauri. I'm hoping those who enjoy tui and the kereru will add possum and bait traps to maintain the habitat and encourage tui and kereru breeding.
